William Charles Woods

William Charles Woods passed away Wednesday, September 16th, 2026, at Hendrick Medical Center, in Abilene, due to heart complications.

Bill was born in Denton, Texas, to Veteran Hall of Famer D.W. Pete Woods and wife, Euna Mae Woods. Bill lived a simple life, spending time fishing, playing his guitar, and building whatever he could get his hands on. He was the epitome of someone who came from humble beginnings; enjoying the simpler things in life, such as good food, good friends, good times, and making good memories.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Delana Sue Woods; their adult children: Angela, Darell, and James; son-in-law: Justin Chambers; daughter-in-laws: Rebecca Woods and Lonna Terry. He also leaves behind eight grand-daughters: Jordan, Avah, Masri, Michelle, Hayleigh, Annaleigh, Aurora, and Harlee.

Bill will forever be a "dinosaur," singing, "Hand me my hat, excuse me man, but where's the door."
