Tammy Jane Brown

Tammy Jane Brown of Abilene/Baird passed from this life on September 21, 2025. She was born on August 6, 1957 in Lamesa, Texas to the late Draper Laroy Brown and Claudine Williams Brown.

She attended Lamesa Public School and upon moving to Baird in 1969, attended Baird Junior High and High School. She was a member of the Class of 1975.

She found her calling while employed at the Abilene State School as a direct caregiver. She loved working with her clients. On the personal side, she was extremely creative. With her love of crafting and cross-stitching, she blessed many family and friends with gifts of her beautiful creations.

Surviving family include her daughter, Amber Isbell McCarty of Abilene. Her life partner of over 20 years, Jim Wilcox. Grandsons Dalton York & wife Kaitlynne of Clyde and Addison McCarty of Abilene. Great grandchildren Andorra Romero, Leah and Elijah McCarty. Her sister Sue Ann (Susie) Rodriguez & husband Efraim of Baird and several Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her infectious laugh, quirky personality and beautiful smile will be greatly missed. Heaven has been made a little brighter by her presence.

A memorial service has been planned at 6:00PM Friday, October 10, 2025 First Baptist Church of Baird. She was a lifetime member of the church.
