Stephanie Rose Matchett

Stephanie Matchett, 80, of Abilene, Texas, and passed away on Sept. 25, 2026, in Abilene Texas.

Stephanie was born to Sammuel Matchett and Lessie Jaggars on August 2, 1946. Although she did not graduate high school she went back and got her GED in her adult years. She worked many jobs throughout her life, Her most fulfilling and rewarding was 20 years at the Abilene State Supported Living Center where she made many wonderful friends and loved the individuals she worked with. She loved retirement where she spent time with her friends going dancing and shopping. She spent a lot of time decorating her house and moving her furniture around as well as helping others do the same. She had love of crocheting and made many doilies and afghans for many people to enjoy for years to come.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Matchett, sisters Roma Wood, and Linda Schaumleffel.

Stephanie is survived by daughter Jennifer McKee and husband Rickey, Sister Melody Morris and Husband, granddaughters: Stephanie Wilkins and Amanda Daniel and husband Jenus, and 3 great grandsons Dalton, Colton, and Samuel.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am October 3, 2026 at Wylie Methodist Church 3430 Antilley Rd. with Jeff Hatcher and Dale Jackson officiating. Services are under the direction of West Central Texas Cremation.
