Stanley C. Redding, 77, of Abilene Tx. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 in Abilene Tx. Stanley was born in Santa Paula, CA. to Hubert Howell Redding and Ollie Lee Beall on January 13, 1948. As a child he traveled between Decatur, TX where his father worked in the oil fields and Ventura CA where Hubert worked on the offshore oil rigs.
Stanley graduated with his GED from the Job Corp as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was then drafted to the U.S. Army, and after basic training, was sent to the Vietnam War. He completed one tour and returned home to Las Angeles where he worked as a printer for the L.A. Times. He then moved to Fillmore, CA, got hired by Conoco as an off-shore driller, and married his wife Debra K. Horn on July 2, 1971. After 13 years he moved to Abilene Tx. started several different business ventures, and lived the rest of his days at home in the Lone Star State.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Ollie, his sisters Virginia Redding, Linda Rogers, and Diane Reed; and his brothers Ross Redding and Fred Redding. Stanley is survived by his children Stan Redding, Cheryle Redding, Thomas Redding, and Andrew Redding; his sister Nancy Sharpe, his grandchildren Trinitie, Hayley, Destiny, Taelor, Thomas Jr., and Bradlee; and one great grandchild, Lorenzo Ray.
Stanley lived his as an independent soul; with an unmatched zeal to experience all life had to offer. He believed in himself and used his talents and personality to always remain self-employed and self-sufficient. His zest for life and entrepreneurial spirit followed him throughout all his days; allowing him to forge his own destiny and live as he chose. He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.
