Sixto Olvera Sanchez

Sixto, 80, of Abilene, TX, passed away on September 20, 2026 in Abilene

Tx at Silver Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Sixto was born in CD

Lerdo Durango Mexico to Lorenza Olvera and Miguel Sanches on

September 28, 1944. He/she went to school in Durango Mexico. He came

to the United States in 1990 and married Dora Islas on April 18, 2008 in

Ballinger, TX. He worked for Dry’s Manufacturing for many years before

retiring. Sixto loved to sit around the patio on the weekends and holiday

and listen to music and visit with his great grandchildren and watch them

swim in the summer and he also enjoyed watching his great grandson Jadyn

play football. Sixto was preceded in death by his wife Dora Islas Sanchez of

Ballinger, his parents Lorenza Olvera and Miguel Sanchez, his paternal

grandparents Sixto Sanchez and Lorenza Verdin and his maternal

grandparents Felipe Olvera and Viviana Renteria as well as his mother in

law Abelia Solis Islas. He is also preceded in death by his sister in law

Gloria Islas Soliz and brother in laws Roberto Islas and Juan Islas of

Ballinger. His also preceded in death by 2 of his sons. Sixto is survived by

his step children Rebecca Islas Lopez and husband Guadalupe , Rachel Islas

and Melanie Beimer, Christy Islas and Randy Islas all of Abilene, his sister

in law Irma Islas Riggs and husband Garland of Hamilton, TX. Great

grandchildren Jadyn, Keegan and Kyrie Islas and numerous nieces and

nephews. Burial will be at Latin American Cemetery in Ballinger on

Saturday October 6, 2026. Services are under the direction of West Texas

CremationThe family of Sixto wishes to extend our sincere thanks to

Hospice of Abilene and Silver Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation for taking

such good care of Sixto and West Central Cremation for their compassion

and continued support throughout this process. In leiu of flowers the family

would like donations to be given to Hospice
