Robert Lewis Barton, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went home to his heavenly Father on August 23rd 2025. Robert was born on December 5, 1936, in Clyde, Texas, to Robert Lee and Sena Madris Barton.

Robert was a proud veteran and honorably served aboard the USS Hornet in the United States Navy, where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He worked as a truck driver and was known by all as someone who never met a stranger. To call him a hardworking family man would not do him justice—he was truly special. He found joy in his faith, traveling, telling stories, fishing, and most of all, his family. Robert lived his Christian beliefs every day by demonstrating kindness and compassion to everyone he met.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Chrystal Barton, his children, Cathy Barton Brown, Robert Barton and wife Deborah, Robin Anderson, Rhonda Barton, and Cynthia Barton. He was a proud grandfather to Blake Barton, Tanner Brown, Tyler Brown, Lauren Tiner, T.J. Staples, Randy Barton, Jake Barton, Meagan Richards, Jordan Anderson-Falcon, Cassi Anderson, Damien Mullen, Darian Farmer, Jaylon Clark, Nick Barton, Samantha Barton, Xavier Barton, and Jesse Olvera. He was blessed with many great-grandchildren and countless extended family members whom he loved all the same. He is also survived by his brother Ron Barton, and sister Barbara Oley and husband Chuck.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sena Avery; his brother Don Barton; and his granddaughter Brittany Staples.

Robert has left a legacy of faith, love and strength. He will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
