Melba Joyce Williams

Melba Joyce Wilson Williams, age 85, of Cisco, Texas, left this side of heaven November 17, 2025, joining her true love again, her late husband Charles Lewis Williams who passed away over a year ago. To know Melba was to love her. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother for over 74 years, she will truly be missed.

Melba was a queen of many trades, and certainly a master to all. In 1955, she fell in love on her first date with Charlie, a love that lasted for over 68 years, and built a life serving her family and others. She lived out the realities and old school definition of a Homemaker. She would laugh and say that she was a bookkeeper, a caretaker, a grave digger, a counselor, a seamstress, a cook, and many more things in life, but that her biggest achievement was worn in her heart, her Family. Melba spent a lifetime making baby blankets welcoming new family members, making sure others had food to eat, hosting family holidays cooking recipes that only she had the special touch in making, being a mentor to youth as they started out in life, and so much more. She loved to listen to family and friend stories through the years as her family grew.

The world was a better place because of Melba’s love and belief in people. She gave hope when hope was never to be found. She gave confidence to those starting out in life. She kept dreams alive through her most sincere words of encouragement. She would wipe tears with her warm hugs. She laughed and loved and exemplified a life full of faith. She taught others to forgive when they didn’t know how. One of her favorite sayings was that things would always work out in the end.

Melba looked forward to seeing her mother and father again, Albert and Lily Wilson, who preceded her early in life as well as her two sisters who helped raise her, Bernice Berry and Modena Kell. She is survived by her sons and daughters: Charles Lewis Williams Jr., Michael and Tammy Williams, Rodney Williams, Sherrie Williams, and the late Jeff and Melissa Miller. Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren survivors include Kim Cash and family: Justin, Ashley, Paisley, Tyler, Madison, Shayla, Reese, Weston, and Desi; Kristy McKee and family: Michael, Preston, Lauren, Kaiti, and Matt; Kassandra Williams and daughter Ralli: Kayla Drake and family: Georgia, Edith, Maren, and Scarlett: Charles L Williams III and daughters Ella and Hayden: Codie Dreher and family: Deric, Corbin, Sophia, and David; Jessica Alsip and family: Chris, and Harper; Aaron and Ashlie Williams and family, Justin and Grace Williams, Dillon, Dustin, and Derek Williams. Melba had several special nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her, including her two special twin cousins, Linda and Glenda, and Wesley Westbrook, whom she was able to recently spend some wonderful reminiscing time with. Melba’s legacy of love and family devotion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
