Kathy Lynn (Chamnesss) Ferguson was born December 1, 1973 to Phyllis and Gardner Chamness I in Brooklyn, NY at a military hospital called Queens.  Kathy-Lynn to family and Kath, Kas of Kay-ci to friends passed away February 19, 2025 at the age of 51 in Abilene, Texas with her husband and kids by her side.  Kathy travelled a great deal due to her mom's love of travelling and her father being in the Army. Kathy's family put their roots down in Baltimore, MD, where she attended George Washington elementary (#22), Diggs Johnson Junior High, and a privarte schoold South Western.  As a teenager she and her siblings hung out in the same groups. Kathy got a chance to live several places including New Your, Maryland, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, and Pennsylvania, and at 18 for a short period of times she lived in Las Vegas..  Kathy and her brother Butch got a chance to be extras in the moving Major League II while it was being filmed in Baltimore.  Kathy's first job was a Roy Rogers, later she went on the have numerous jobs including EB Brown, Utili Quest, unloader at Wal-Mart, Avon, but her favorite job was being a Mom and Nena.  Kathy met her chlidren's father Mark Barrett in the neighborhood she grew up in.  During one of her travels with her family she met her husband James Ferguson (Tiny) at a carnival.  They married July 21, 1995 in Brownwood, Texas.  Kathy and Tiny for a few years were carnie.  Kathy loved to prove people wrong, so when her dad said she couldn't get her CDL, she did, just to prove him wrong. Kathy loved to drink Monsters and iced coffee and mix ginger in whatever it tasted good with.  Kathy loved learning new things, especially history, or anything about her maternal family, The Ashby's. Yes the Virginia Ahsbys! Some of the first settlers. She spent months on Ancestery learning her family tree; she was so proud she named her son Turner Ashby.  Kathy was a human calculator, she could answer any question off the top of her head.  She loved the show The Walking Dead.  She was a mega fan.  She also loved all music.  Some of her favorite sayings was she had pompe, pompe didn't have her.  Kathy was a loving, caring, and honest person to anyone.  One of her last memories was feeding the homeless with her grandson Aazariah.  Kathy is survived by her husband James Ferguson; children Mona Chamblee and Josha, Andrew Ferguson and Maj, Dalanna Ferguson, and Turner Barrett and Dayaneria; grandchildren Donovan, Kendrick, Zackariah, Aazariah, Jerziah, Anthoney, Erodonis, and her first granddaughter Estella Rose-Lynn; siblings Neand and George Linton, Gardner Chamness II, and Mary and Adrian.  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, and cousins including Heather and Lil Scotty, ShirlAnn, Bubby, Caleb, and Savannah;Honorary children Zackery Binion, Krisha Morgan, Deveney Mann, her Eor, Tasia Webb, Diamond Preston, Deondrea White, Gary Allison (Trey), Leigh-Anne and Kylee Rittner, Diana, and Bookie.  Kathy was preceded in death by Phyllis and Redds, her maternal and paternal grandparents and great grandparents, her in laws Clifford and Ramona Ferguson, her aunt Shirley Ann, cousins Louis, Tony little Billy Greives, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and her best friend Barbara P.
