Geraldine MacKenzie Linder, lovingly known as Gerri, passed away peacefully at her home on May 3, 2025. Born on December 12, 1948, in Missouri, Gerri was a beacon of kindness and compassion throughout her life, embodying strength, caring and unwavering love.
Graduating from Willipa Valley High School in 1967, Gerri later attended Seattle Community College, where she forged the path that would lead to her vibrant career. She owned Gerri's Rite Spot Cafe in Tacoma, WA, creating a gathering place filled with good food and friendly faces. Gerri also served as a mobile notary for Abilene, TX, and the surrounding areas, always ready to assist those in need.
Her passion for sports was evident as she cheered fervently for the Texas Rangers and Oklahoma University Football. Many cherished moments were spent watching games, but perhaps none were as special as the time she enjoyed on South Padre Island with her beloved husband, Bob Linder, who precedes her in death. Their memories together will forever resonate in the hearts of their family.
Gerri's true joy came from her family, which she treasured deeply. She leaves behind her daughter, Kimberly Hansen and her husband Derek. Additional survivors include step-daughters Lisa, Patti, and Robin, as well as her step-son Steve. Gerri's legacy continues through her grandchildren, including Nickolaus and Briana, as well as her nine additional grandkids and twenty great-grandchildren. Each of them holds a piece of her heart, and she will be remembered for the warmth and light she brought into their lives.
Throughout her journey, Gerri touched countless lives and created a ripple effect of kindness that will not be forgotten. Her strength and love were unmatched, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her spirit continue to inspire love and compassion in our lives.
