Gerald Stanford

Gerald Robert Stanford, better known as JJ, age 61, of Haskell Texas, passed away surrounded by love and family on February 6, 2026 in Haskell.

JJ was born in Loma Linda, California to Lorna and Weldon Stanford on January 18, 1965. They later moved to Stamford in 1969. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1983. In August 1996 he met the love of his life, Milissa Payne, and they were married November 25, 1996 in Haskell Texas.

JJ was preceded in death by his mother Lorna Dee, Father Weldon, and his baby brother Charlie.

JJ is survived by his Wife Milissa (Mimi) Stanford of Haskell, his Son Nathan Stanford of Munday, his Brother Steven and wife Annette Stanford of Stamford, Sister Angela and husband Jerry Walls of Abilene, Sister Beth Stanford of Haskell, Sister-in-law Meranda and husband Tony Grand of Haskell, brother-in-law Robbie and wife Angela Payne of Tolar, brother-in-law Cooter Payne of Haskell, Niece Hannah and husband Cody Strickland, Nephew Tristen Payne, Nephew Ashton Grand and Fiancé Keleigh Ramirez, Nephew Seth Payne, Niece Aerial Payne ,Niece Nevaeh Guerrero , Niece Lailah Guerrero, Niece Cadence Payne, Nephew Gunnar Payne, Niece Sydney Bolin, Niece Jessica and husband Jim Woodard, Nephew James Walls, and Great-nieces Acelynn Strickland and Neylani Ervin.

JJ’s nieces and nephews remember the many weekends of love, laughter and being chased around the yard. JJ never lost his spark, and no matter the circumstances he continued to crack jokes and make everyone around him smile.
