George Hopes III

It is with heavy heart and deep gratitude for a life well lived that we sadly announce the passing of George Hopes Ill, who left us on July 31, 2026.

Born on July 1, 1957, in Nagoya, Japan. George was a beacon of light and strength, whose presence touched the lives of all who knew him.

George was the beloved son of George and Mistsue Hopes Jr, who preceded him along with his dear sister Kimi.

He is survived by his brother Donald Hiroshi Hopes, who carries forward his legacy of love and kindness, his 4 cousins, many second cousins, 11 nieces, nephews and 19 grand nieces and nephews.

Though George had no children, he was a cherished friend and mentor to many, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

Not expected to live to see his eighteenth year of life, miraculously he managed to see his way through many challenging obstacles. Fortunately, he was able to experience an abundance as he experienced life and able to travel to many states from New York to California. Educated at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and Cooper High school, where he played JV football. George’s journey was one of dedication and passion. His career was a testament to his diverse talents and his venture in body building and weight lighting. His commitment to empowering others was evident through his involvement with the Jr special Olympics where he inspired others to his courage and determination, He also loved all sports and a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and if you didn't like it, the fight was on.

Known for his outgoing nature, he was kind, caring and giving. His humor and flirtatious charm were well known, as he always had a playful comment for the ladies and bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. His energetic spirit and courageous heart were a source of inspiration, encouraging others to embrace life's challenges with resilience and joy.

George didn't let his cerebral palsy condition stop him from doing anything his heart desired. He loved his family, closest friends and always bought you a gift when you didn't expect it.

In accordance with Georges wishes, there will not be a funeral service.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to his nurse Nadia from Hendrick Hospice for her exceptional care, compassion and Amber for her bright, outgoing, funny personality that always kept him smiling and laughing. He will deeply be missed yet; his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
