Elvie Hudson

Elvie Ray Hudson, 70, of Merkel, Texas was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 6, 1954 and he passed away on October 29, 2025 in Abilene, Texas.

Elvie enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo and playing his guitar. There wasn't a person who Elvie met who didn't like him. He married the love of his life Suzie Hudson on March 6th and they were married for 28 years. He worked most of his life in the oilfield where he met so many friends. He eventually went to work for the prison and retired after working there for 10 years. He didn't like to stay home so he went to work for Bryd where he worked for 3 years. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Those left to cherish Elvie's memories are his wife, Suzie Hudson of Merkel, Tx; his daughter and son-in-law Cassandra and Willie Holmes of Merkel, Tx, daughter and son-in-law Tonya and Gary Howsen of Killen, Tx, son and daughter-in-law Elvie and Paula Hudson of Buckholts, Tx, son and daughter-in-law Elmer and Jennifer Brawley of Harker Heights, Tx, son John (JC) Brawley of Harker Heights, Tx, sister and her husband Jeannie and JR Huffman of Abilene, Tx, brother-in-law Gilbert Rivera of Merkel, Tx, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way, and several nephews and nieces.
