Ednoi Enriquez Carrasco, age 72, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, with his children by his side. Though deeply missed, his family finds peace in knowing he is now resting in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served.
Ednoi was born in Monahans, Texas, to Rev. Wenceslao Cortez Carrasco and Elena Enriquez Carrasco. Faith and family were central to his life from an early age and remained important to him throughout the years.
He graduated from Abilene High School, Class of 1973, and proudly served his country as a Sergeant Meritoriously (E-5) in the United States Marine Corps. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Naval Aircrew Insignia, Letter of Appreciation, Pistol Marksmanship Badge, and Rifle Expert Badge.
Following his military service, Ednoi attended Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater, Texas. He worked for HL&P in Houston, Texas, and later for Compaq.
Ednoi dedicated much of his time to serving his church. Over the years, he taught Sunday school, drove the church van, sang in the choir, and led Bible study groups. His faith guided his daily life, and he quietly served wherever he was needed.
He is survived by his children, Jessica Dawn Hernandez and her husband Shawn Hernandez of Georgetown, Texas, and Justin Daniel Carrasco of Houston, Texas; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Hernandez, Brayden Hernandez, and Cole Hernandez. He is also survived by his brothers Ernesto Carrasco and wife June of Columbus, Nebraska, and Eliseo Carrasco and wife Marsha of Tyler, Texas; his sister Esther Carrasco of San Antonio, Texas; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. W.C. Carrasco and Elena Enriquez Carrasco, and his nephew, Jeremy Carrasco.
Services celebrating Ednoi’s life will take place at the end of March. Arrangements are pending and will be announced by the family at a later date.
“ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”- 2 Timothy 4:7-8
